This method, known for its unparalleled durability and longevity, ensures that your ghillie brogues will stand the test of time, serving you faithfully for years to come. The craftsmanship is evident in every stitch, where the quality of the welt and the finished lock stitch speak volumes about the meticulous attention to detail that goes into creating each pair.

The luxury leather upper exudes opulence, boasting a high-shine finish that catches the light in all the right ways. This carefully selected leather not only elevates the aesthetic appeal of the ghillie brogue but also promises durability that withstands the rigors of daily wear. It’s a fusion of style and substance, where sophistication meets resilience.

One glance beneath the shoe reveals a mark of authenticity that sets our Ghillie Brogue apart. The Thistle logo, meticulously engraved onto the leather sole unit, serves as a symbol of our dedication to quality and heritage. But we don’t stop there; for added durability and an extra touch of authenticity, steel quarter tips are hand-screwed into the heel. This ensures that your ghillie brogues not only look the part but are also ready to face any terrain with grace and resilience.

In every step you take, our Ghillie Brogue narrates a story of tradition, craftsmanship, and sophistication. It’s more than just a shoe; it’s a statement of refined taste and an appreciation for the finer things in life. Description

At Thistle Shoes we pride ourselves on our quality and service, as we still make our ghillie brogues the same way as we always have, by using traditional skills and craftsmen. ” Brown Ghillie Brogue” is one of our top of the range ghillie brogue for gentlemen who is looking for a different colour to the traditional black.

Ghillie brogues are most commonly seen as an essential component of traditional, formal Scottish dress and are worn primarily for social occasions.

Historically this has not always been the case as they trace their roots to a rudimentary shoe originating in Scotland and Ireland that was constructed using untanned leather with perforations that allowed water to drain from the shoes when the wearer crossed wet terrain such as a bog.

The word “brogues” originates in the late sixteenth century and is a derivation of the Irish and Scots Gaelic “brōg”, taken from the Old Norse “brók” meaning “leg covering”
